Riccardo Perugini is a Tuscan composer. He began his studies with Andrea Portera and furthered them with Unsuk Chin, Peter Eötvös, Luca Francesconi and Francesco Filidei. His music was commissioned by institutions and festivals such as the Biennale d'arte di Venezia, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Cantiere Internazionale d'arte di Montepulciano, the Teatro Grande di Brescia, the Teatro Stabile di Torino, the Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival and was awarded by Salvatore Sciarrino, Magnus Lindberg, Christopher Theofanidis and Michael Torke.

Riccardo’s music has also been performed by some of the leading contemporary music orchestras and ensembles: the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, the Orchestra della Toscana, the Avanti! Kamariorkesteri, the Tapiola Sinfonietta, the Amatis Piano Trio (Het Concertgebouw), the Divertimento Ensemble, the Shanghai New Music Ensemble, the Sunrise Quartet (Kennedy Center) and by soloists from Ensemble Modern, Quartetto Prometeo, Ensemble Linea and Sentieri Selvaggi.
