Celina Kintscher

Composer

Celina Anna Kintscher (1998) is a German-Austrian composer who studies at UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music with Ian Krouse. She has also studied with Richard Danielpour, Anthony Constantino and Jörg Widmann (one of 2018’s most performed contemporary composers). Along with many other awards, Ms. Kintscher is a 2022 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award Finalist and received the Division Winner of the World Award at the World Championships of Performing Arts in 2015 representing South Africa. Kintscher's compositional style is shaped by her time living in Europe, Africa and America: she combines the African drive and rhythm, classical European harmonic and textural languages, with the bravery to explore and express which the American contemporary music world allows.
